The 2020 Santa Barbara County Chardonnay comes from 2 vineyards, one on the Santa Maria Valley and the other from the famed Santa Rita Hills. Fermented in neutral oak, with native yeast and aged 6 months. This perfectly encapsulates everything there is to love

The wine is then aged in 50% acacia barrels and 50% oak barrels

This long aging and maceration results in a beautiful meaty iron laden wine with aromas of raunchy wild berries

The results of this careful work are well-balanced wines that express a sense of place

The younger grapes make their way into younger wines like the Trebbiolo and the older vines lend their grapes to producing long-aging wines as in the 2012 Macchiona
